Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the purely temporary position of one
Student Trainee for two months under the Scientific Social Responsibility (SSR) head of SERB-CRG
project entitled “Investigating the synergistic epigenetic and post-transcriptional gene silencing
mechanism involved in the regulation of flavonoid biosynthesis in banana (Musa sp.)”, under the
supervision of Dr. Ashutosh Pandey, Scientist, NIPGR.
Student Trainee (One Post): Consolidated emoluments `. 5000/- per month as sanctioned in the
project.
Eligibility Criteria: Candidates currently pursuing the B.SC./B.Tech/B.Eng./M.Sc. in any discipline
of Life Sciences/BS-MS dual degree with biology as a major subject are eligible to apply. The tenure
of the position is for two months and is not extendable.
Desirable Criteria: Basic knowledge of molecular biology tools and techniques and handling
plants such rice and Arabidopsis will be preferred.
The above position is completely on temporary basis for two months and co-terminus with the
project. The fellowship/emolument amount for the above position is as sanctioned in the project.
The appointment will be for two months and the same can be curtailed on the basis of assessment of
the candidate's performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to
select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualification and experience of the
candidate. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms. The appointment may be
terminated any time by giving one month notice by either side.
The applicants will have no claim
implicit or explicit for consideration against any regular position of NIPGR.

Trainee) along with self-attested copies of the marksheet, certificates etc (from class X onwards) in a
single PDF on ashutosh@nipgr.ac.in within 15 days from the date of advertisement at NIPGR
website. Incomplete application and lack of supporting educational certificates will be rejected. The
candidates must ascertain their eligibility before applying, as ineligible candidates will not be
interviewed. Interview link will only be sent to shortlisted candidates only.
Note: ONLY soft copy of the application in the given format along with all certificates in a
single PDF will be accepted. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. For any
