Job Description Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Invites highly qualified applicants with professional, academic, and research experience in Plant Pathology.
Candidates with collaborative & interdisciplinary learning environments and working towards a curriculum multi-tasking with Timeline-oriented. Should be strong enough to meet all the academic and research-related requirements for the School of Agriculture.
Work Responsibilities:
Identifying plant diseases, researching on disease resistance, and advising on disease control and management strategies
Good in methodical approach to lab work, and strong analytical skills
Academically enhance the students by effective teaching on plant health and productivity by understanding and managing plant diseases
Overall pathological studies and research and their control strategies
Conduct laboratory tests and field observations with the students
Develop and advise the students on disease control measures and management strategies
Communicate findings in scientific papers and reports
Work collaboratively with agronomists, biologists, and other scientists
Develop and implement disease-resistant plant varieties
Provide effective education and outreach to students and the university
Serving on academic or administrative committees that deal with university policies, departmental matters, and academic issues
Teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the field of expertise
Engage in scholarly research activities leading to publications in refereed journals - Participate in academic advising and mentoring of students Assist in the development of curriculum and educational materials.
Additional Skill Sets:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
PhD in Plant Pathology, Biology, or a related Field Work Environment
Laboratory and field settings
Open to travel as when required for research and student's field study and conferences.
