Recruitment of Scientific position

Narayana Nethralaya Foundation invites applications from eligible candidates for the

position of Project Technical Support-III to work under an ICMR (IIRPSG-2024-01-01292) funded project titled “Molecular Predictive markers for myopia in Indian adolescents

 using integrated multi-omics approach” in GROW LAB, Narayana Nethralaya Foundation, Bangalore, Karnataka, India.
 
Name of the post: Project Technical Support-III
 
Number of positions: 1
 
Duration: 3 years minimum (Provision of extension is available based on performance).
 
Qualifications: Masters degrees in Biological Sciences/Life Sciences/Bio medical Science with 2 years of prior research laboratory experience.
 
Experience: Candidates with strong interest human genetics and molecular biology
 

Candidate having experience in cell and molecular biology techniques (PCR, qPCR, sequencing, whole Genome/exome sequencing, NGS data analysis, gene cloning and expression analysis, mammalian cell culturing, Microscopy, Western blot) related to research work of the project along with organizational skills is preferable.
 
The role: The post holder will be primarily responsible to perform sample collection, achieving, DNA sequencing, NGS data analysis along with basic cell and molecular biology techniques using patients samples and  cells. Candidate will need to undertake common laboratory duties as responsibilities of this post. Appropriate training for sample handling, usage of personal protective equipment and performing experiments in biosafety lab will be provided to the candidate to fulfil the said role.

·         A team player with excellent communication skills

·         Experience of working in a research team and contributing ideas for new research projects would add value

Experience: Candidates with strong interest and first hand working knowledge in mass spectrometry is preferred. Prior laboratory experience in handling protein samples, separation techniques such as PAGE, chromatography, basic scriptwriting (Python, R), statistical data analysis (SPSS, PRIZM or Med Calc) etc are MANDATORY. Previous experience with data analysis from proteomics, genomics, transcriptomics or metabolomics, pathway analysis, network analysis, with organizational skills is preferable.

The role: The post holder will be primarily responsible to perform whole proteomic/metabolomic assays and analyse data from such experiments alongside sequencing datasets. biomarker analysis, clinical sample processing and their bio-banking, flow cytometry, custom ELISA, data analysis including statistics and participate in all the laboratory activities. Candidate will need to undertake common laboratory duties as responsibilities of this post. Appropriate training for sample handling, usage of personal protective equipment and performing experiments in biosafety lab will be provided to the candidate to fulfil the said role.
