About the job

Role Description: This full-time on-site role is for Assistant Professor in Biotechnology, School of Sciences, at Woxsen University, Hyderabad. Professors will be responsible for teaching B.Sc. level Biotechnology-related courses, course design and establishing new labs at the undergraduate and graduate levels and advising and mentoring students. They will also be expected to participate in departmental activities and services, actively pursue research interests, organizing academic events, and funding proposals.

Responsibilities:

Teaching: (i) Develop and deliver undergraduate and graduate Agricultural Science courses reflecting current industry trends and best practices. (ii) Mentor and advise students, fostering their academic and professional development. (iii) Collaborate with faculty colleagues to develop and implement innovative teaching methods and assessments.

Research: (i) Conduct applied research projects that address real-world challenges and contribute to the advancement of the field. (ii) Collaborate with industry partners to identify and pursue research opportunities. (iii) Supervise student research projects and assist with the publication of research findings.

Industry Partnerships: (i) Build relationships with industry partners to facilitate internships, co-op placements, and collaborative research projects. (ii) Provide industry insights and expertise to inform curriculum development and program offerings. (iii) Serve as a liaison between the university and industry, promoting the department's capabilities and fostering partnerships.

Service: (i) Contribute to departmental/inter-departmental and university committees and service activities. (ii) Participate in outreach and recruitment efforts to attract talented students and faculty. (iii) Serve as a mentor and role model for students, inspiring them to pursue careers in computer science and related fields.

Qualifications:

Candidates should be from well reputed institutions (experience from abroad is preferable)

1. Ph.D. in Biotechnology or related field from India or abroad (Mandatory).

2. Prior to PhD, Master’s Degree in the concerned discipline with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever the grading system is followed).

3. Teaching experience: Demonstrated ability to teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

4. Strong research and publication record, focusing on applied research and industry collaborations.

5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with students, faculty, and industry partners.

6. A commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment.
