Advertisement for Junior Research Fellow  

Applications are invited from highly motivated and eligible candidates for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF)-funded research project titled: "Exploring Diversity and Functional Dynamics of Microbial Communities Inhabiting Sulfur Spring at Sahastradhara, Dehradun, Uttarakhand.” [PI: Dr. Nirjara Singhvi, Assistant Professor, DBUU] The selected candidate will be involved in field sampling, microbial isolation, culturing, and molecular characterization of microbial communities.

(*Age Limit- 26 years)

Essential Qualifications: 

•M.Sc. in Microbiology, Zoology, or Biotechnology from a recognized university with a strong academic background. 

Desirable Skills & Experience: 

• Hands-on experience in microbiological techniques, including microbial handling and culturing. • Experience in molecular techniques (DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, sequencing, etc.) will be an added advantage. 

• Fieldwork experience related to environmental or microbial research is desirable. 

• Candidates with a valid NET/GATE qualification will be given preference.  

Position Details: 

• Location: Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University (DBUU), Dehradun 

• The salary will be provided as per Government of India norms. 

• Project Duration: 3 Years 

The position is temporary and co-terminus with the project. Additionally, the service of JRF will be liable to termination at any time without any notice and without assigning any reason.
