The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune is a premier
institute dedicated to research and teaching in the basic sciences. It was established in
2006 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (renamed Ministry of Education
in August 2020). In 2012, IISER Pune was declared as an Institute of National Importance
by an Act of Parliament.
Indian Nationals fulfilling following advertised criteria may attend Walk-in Interviews for
the following position which is under the funded project:

“Bioprospecting and pollution tolerance capacity analysis
of mangrove species for the livelihood improvement of the
mangrove-associated local communities via sustainable
utilization and conservation”

Minimum educational
Qualification
Master’s degree in Natural / Agricultural Sciences from a
recognized university or equivalent.
Please note that candidates whose final degree
examination results are awaited may also apply.
However, the appointment will be provided to the selected
candidates only after obtaining the results.
Please also note that depending on the number of
reporting candidates, additional selection procedures
(e.g., examination using multiple choice questions) may
be used.
Preference
Candidates having following will be preferred -
1. Plant and insect culture maintenance
2. Biochemical assays
3. Plant-interaction ecology
Job
requirements
The successful candidate will have to conduct the
biochemical assays, field observations, and data
collection and will maintain plant and insect cultures.
Tenure
of the appointment
Initially for a period of one year extendable for further
period subject to satisfactory performance of the
incumbent and continuation of the project.
Consolidated emoluments
per month Rs. 25,000/- + 24% (House Rent
Allowance)
