Education: Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Bioengineering, Physics, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or a related discipline.
Experience: 1-5 years of relevant lab experience.
Job Description:
- Design and execute experiments involving microfluidic droplet manipulation and optical signal acquisition.
- Develop, optimise, and validate multiplexed single-cell assays for fluorescence and scatter signal detection in droplets.
- Interface with the engineering team to prototype, test, and improve the optofluidic instrument, including alignment of optical components and integration with microfluidic chips.
- Analyse complex data sets using custom algorithms and assist in refining signal processing pipelines for accurate droplet and cell characterisation.
- Lead troubleshooting and calibration protocols for hardware and software to ensure reproducibility and data quality.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with biology, hardware, and software teams to translate biological requirements into assay formats.
- Contribute to documentation, SOPs, and technical reports for internal knowledge and IP development.
- Present findings in team meetings and support grant or publication efforts through data generation and interpretation.
Desirable Skills:
- Hands-on experience in microfluidic systems
- Proficiency in assay development for cell analysis, including flow cytometry, antibody labelling, and signal quantification.
- Familiarity with optical detection systems (e.g., photodetectors, lasers, filters, fluorescence optics).
- Experience in handling and aligning optical setups for excitation and detection in fluidic systems is highly desirable.
- Competence in data analysis using Python, experience with signal processing algorithms is a plus.
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills in experimental design and execution.
- Ability to work with an interdisciplinary team and learn new concepts quickly.
Tenure: Contract position initially for 6 months, extendable based on performance evaluation.
Remuneration: Based on the candidate’s qualification and Experience.
