The Institute for Stem Cell Science & Regenerative Medicine (www.instem.res.in), Bangalore is an autonomous institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. BRIC-inStem’s mandate is to establish collaborative research programs in the field of stem cell biology, regeneration, and repair in development and disease, with an emphasis on translation. To develop strengths in focused areas, research at BRIC-inStem is driven through collaborative interdisciplinary teams, addressing questions that are beyond the scope of a single laboratory. 

BRIC-inStem invites applications (in online mode) from eligible candidates for the following positions in the laboratory of Dr. Barun Mahata, Scientist-D, Epigenome Editing Lab and PI The Institute for Stem Cell Science and Regenerative Medicine (inStem), is a premier research center located in Bengaluru. Dr. Barun Mahata is a recently joined faculty member at inStem. His research focuses on development of next generation technologies to interrogate and perturb mammalian epigenome, transcriptome and epitranscriptome in a programmable and predictable manner using cuttingedge molecular biology and synthetic biology approach. BRIC-inStem invites applications (online) from eligible candidates for contractual position of following Scientific position in the laboratory of Dr. Barun Mahata. We are looking for dedicated professionals who are result-oriented, can assimilate, analyze and communicate data effectively and are excellent team players capable of working in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment. 

Postdoctoral Fellow 

Rs. 58,000/ + HRA HRA p/m 

Age Limit 35 years 

Ph.D. in Biochemistry/ Bioengineering/ Biotechnology or any branch of Life Sciences Candidates with strong background in cell and molecular biology are encouraged to apply. 

Previous experience with cloning, cell culture, stem cells, DNA/RNA transfections, QPCR, western blot, ChIP, CRISPR/ Cas9, will be an asset. We are looking for a detailoriented, well-organized, excellent team player with strong communication skills. 

Project Associate-I 

Rs. 37,000/m+ HRA (NET Qualified) Rs. 30,000/m+ HRA (Non-NET Qualified) 

Age Limit 35 years 

Essential Qualification Completed MS/MSc in any branch of Life Sciences. Optional Qualification Preferences will be given to candidates who cleared one National level test (CSIR/UGC, ICMR, DBT /GATE XL/GATE Biotechnology). 

Candidates with strong background in molecular biology are encouraged to apply. Previous experience with CRISPR/ dCas9 based epigenome editing tools will be an asset. 

We are looking for a detail-oriented, well-organized, excellent team player with strong communication skills.

Essential Qualification Completed MSc/ equivalent in any branch of Life Sciences with CRISPR/ Cas9 based genome engineering, cell and molecular biology experience. 

Optional Qualification Previous experience with stem cell culture will be a plus. 

Preferences will be given to candidates who cleared any national level test (CSIR/ UGC, ICMR, DBT /GATE XL/GATE-Biotechnology). 

• Research requiring cell biology techniques including culturing stem cell and routine cell lines, maintenance of stocks and transfection. 
• Plan experiments, order reagents, and adhere to protocols. 
• CRISPR/ Cas9 based genome engineering and routine molecular biology work such as cloning, nucleic acid isolation. • Protein complexes purification, IP/MS, Western blotting 
• Regular data analyses, project updates literature surveys and presentations on the target 
• Participate in project team meetings and contribute to the projects intellectually
