ENGAGEMENT OF CONSULTANT FOR PROVIDING VETERINARY SERVICES
Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB) is an Institution of National Importance established by the
Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India, with regional and global partnerships synergizing with the
programmes of UNESCO. The primary focus of RCB is to provide world-class education, training and
conduct innovative research at the interface of multiple disciplines to create high quality human resource
in disciplinary and interdisciplinary areas of biotechnology in a globally competitive research milieu.
The Centre invites online applications from eligible and interested applicants to provide Veterinary
Consultancy services at RCB Faridabad as per the details laid down hereunder: -
1. Veterinary
Consultant
Consolidated Fee: -
₹75,000-1,25,000/-
per month based
on qualifications
and experience
Essential Qualification:
i) Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine and
Animal Husbandry from a recognized University
with 60% or better marks or equivalent grade.
ii) A minimum of two years post-qualification relevant
experience.
iii) Must be registered with the state veterinary council
or veterinary council of India.
Desirable Qualification:
i) Master’s degree in Veterinary Medicine/ Veterinary
Pathology/Veterinary Pharmacology from a
recognized University.
Desirable Experience:
Previous experience of working in a small animal facility,
with general care, breeding and maintenance, quality
control and understanding of diseases and pathology of
laboratory animals.
Age Limit: Not exceeding 50 years as on closing date of
the advertisement.
Services required to be rendered by the consultant:
i) required to manage the day to day running of the affairs
of the Experimental Animal Facility.
ii) responsible for laboratory animal care including
breeding and maintenance.
iii) perform health and genetic monitoring/genotyping
of small laboratory animals.
iv) organize meetings of and serve on the RCB
Institutional Animal Ethics Committee.
v) train students and researchers on animal handling.
vi) monitor and oversee ongoing experiments and
help plan future experiments.
vii) provide expert help on animal experiments.
viii) liaise with CCSEA and nominees on inspections.
ix) ensure compliance of experimental protocols.
x) perform record keeping as per CCSEA guidelines.
xi) supervise and coordinate individual job duties of a team
of animal facility caretakers and housekeeping staff.
xii) ensure that all SOPs are implemented effectively in the
animal facility.
xiii) help regulatory bodies and authorized
personnel perform inspections at regular intervals.
xiv) carry out any other related tasks as recommended by
the Experimental Animal Facility management committee.
