About the Topic
Understanding the three-dimensional architecture of proteins is fundamental to modern bioscience research, particularly in areas such as drug discovery, target identification, and rational protein design. Since experimental structure determination is often time-consuming and expensive, computational approaches have become the preferred choice for rapid and cost-effective protein structure prediction. In this workshop, participants will gain a clear conceptual understanding of theoretical and computational strategies used to predict protein 3D structures directly from amino-acid sequences.
The course will also highlight recent developments and advances in the field of protein structure prediction. The hands-on sessions will focus on homology (comparative) modeling, where participants will learn to build, analyze, and interpret protein structures using widely used web-based tools such as SWISS-MODEL, Phyre2, and other online softwares. By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to confidently generate and assess protein structural models for their own research applications. This training will be useful for students, research fellow, faculties from life Science and pharmaceutical science background.
