Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the following positions on purely temporary basis out of the DBT-BUILDER project “Connecting Cellular and Molecular approaches to understand Organismal biology and Disease (C2MOD)” in the School of Life Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Positions are available immediately and are valid till 15.03.2027.
A. Post No. 1: Project Assistant (two posts)
Consolidated Emoluments: 20000/- plus 24% HRA as per rules.
Job Description: The selected candidate will be expected to perform all assigned tasks including preparation and coordination of work reports, progress reports, participate in purchase of items, processing of bills, record keeping, helping in field work/ laboratory maintenance.
Essential Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Science (BSc) from a recognized university or 3 years of Diploma in Engineering and Technology.
Desirable qualification: At least one year of experience working in any research laboratory/institute, preferably in a life science institute/laboratory. ‘Experience certificate’ from a previous employer is required in support of the work experience.
B. Post No. 2: Project Associate (one post)
Consolidated Emoluments: 31000 p.m. plus 24% HRA as per rules
Job Description: The selected candidate will be expected to perform all assigned tasks primarily for helping in laboratory research and operating scientific equipments, including FACS/Confocal microscopy/Fluorescence microscopy, and participate in organizing laboratory training programmes. The candidate will also be expected to prepare and coordinate work reports, participate in the purchase of items, processing of bills, record keeping etc.
Essential Qualification: Candidates having M.Sc. degree in Life Sciences/Allied disciplines from a recognized university or equivalent.
Desirable Qualification: Candidates having hands-on experience of operating any scientific equipment/s of high value available in life sciences laboratories, preferably FACS/Confocal microscopy/Fluorescence microscopy, and research/training in Cell Biology/Molecular Biology techniques will be preferred. ‘Experience certificate’ from a previous employer is required in support of the work experience.
