Advertisement for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF, Position-01) for the
ANRF ARG Project
Applications are invited on a purely temporary basis for one post of Junior Research Fellow (01 JRF)
to work in the Advanced Research Grant (ARG) ANRF-sponsored research project entitled
“Delineating the Diversity and Host Gene Targets of TAL Effectors in Xanthomonas
Phytopathogens” vide File No: ANRF/ARG/2025/007184/LS sanctioned to Dr. Rikky Rai (PI),
Dr. Sunil Kumar Singh (Co-PI), Department of Botany, University of Allahabad and Dr.
Subahdeep Chatterjee (Co-PI), CDFD, Hyderabad.
The position is purely temporary and coterminus with the project, with a consolidated stipend of INR 37,000/- plus HRA per month for 2
years and INR 42000/- plus HRA per month for the 3rd Year and will be governed by the funding
agency ANRF guidelines & service conditions of the University of Allahabad. The performance of
the recruited JRF will be evaluated at the end of one year from the start of the project and will be
extended for another two years based on satisfactory performance. The fellowship may be terminated
with one month's notice if found unsatisfactory.
The travel expenses related to project work will be
allocated from the travel allowance provisioned in the project.
• Essential Qualifications: Candidates must have an M.Sc. Botany/Biotechnology/
Microbiology/Life Science (1st class in undergraduate and post-graduate examinations).
Candidates who have qualified in CSIR-UGC NET JRF/GATE/national-level examinations
are encouraged to apply.
Candidates with experience in microbiology, plant pathology,
molecular biology, and bioinformatics will be given preference.
• Age limit: Maximum 28 years as on 1st April 2026 (age relaxation for SC/ST/PH is as per
GoI rules).

1. The candidate will be shortlisted based on merit and need of the project.
2. You have to come
physically for the interview along with your original certificates.
3. No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in
the interview.
4. Since the position is purely temporary, no claim for regular appointment/continuation of
services in any other project will be entertained.
