Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar, an autonomous institute of the Department of
Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India invites applications from Indian
Nationals for the appointment of the following position.
Name of position: Senior Research Fellow (01 position)
Project: “Development and Immortalization of Primary Human Middle Ear Epithelial (HMEE) Cells to
Elucidate Otitis Media Pathogenesis: A Population-Specific Model” [Advanced Research Grant (ARG)
funded by ANRF]
Principal Investigator: Dr. P V Ramchander
Fellowship: Rs. 42,000/- + HRA
Eligibility & Selection:
Educational Qualifications: M.Sc. or an equivalent qualification in any area of Life Sciences with a
minimum of two years post M.Sc. experience. The candidate should have cleared any National Level
Eligibility Test (NET/GATE/ etc.).
Job description & Desired knowledge: Proven hands-on expertise in
primary cell isolation from human surgical tissue, extracellular matrix-based culture systems, molecular
techniques including immunofluorescence, qRT-PCR, Western blotting, and experience in
Cryopreservation/cell banking and cell line authentication/validation assays.
Age Limit:
The candidate should be below 35 years in age, as on 08.06.2026. Age relaxation will be granted as per the
Government of India norms.
Selection will be conducted through application screening, followed by an interview.
