BRIC-Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar, an autonomous institute of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of
Science & Technology, Government of India invites applications from eligible Indian Nationals for the following positions under
the project titled “Exploring the marine ecosystems for novel bioresources with human health and industrial significance.”
Project duration: Up to 31.03.2027 or the completion of the project as per GoI orders and based on annual performance appraisal.
Position #1
Name of Post Project Scientist – III
Number of posts 01
Upper age limit 45 years
Remuneration 78,000/- per month +18% HRA
Essential qualifications Candidates having
i) Doctoral Degree in Science/ Master’s Degree in Engineering or Technology
from a recognized University or equivalent;
ii) Seven years’ experience in Research & Development
in Industrial & Academic Institutions or Science & technology Organizations & Scientific activities
& services.
The fellowship would be applicable as per DST guidelines
Desirable qualifications Experience in Isolation and multi-OMIC characterization of microbes from marine environment.
Culture adaptation and optimization of growth conditions to enhance yield of secondary
metabolites. Bioprospecting for identification of marine enzymes of industrial significance. In-vitro
characterization and generation of synthetic platforms for large scale production of microbial
proteins.

Name of Post Senior Research Fellow

Upper age limit 35 years
Remuneration 42,000/- per month + 18% HRA
Essential qualifications Candidates having M.Sc. / M. Tech / M. Pharm. / M.V.Sc. or equivalent qualification in Life
Sciences or allied subjects with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks (relaxation will be given as
per GOI guideline) with 2 years of experience in researchwork are eligible to apply.
Preference
will be given to national-level entrance test (NET/GATE) qualified candidates. For nonNET/GATE candidates, the fellowship would be applicable as per DST guidelines.
Desirable qualifications Candidates with more than two years of research experience in applied
microbiology/biotechnology/ bioprospecting. Candidates with experience in microbes isolation
and characterization, optimization of culture conditions, and enzymes assays

Name of Post Laboratory Technician

Upper age limit 50 years
Remuneration 20,000/- per month + 18% HRA
Essential qualifications: BSc. or 3 years diploma in Science, Engineering, and Technology
Desirable
qualifications
Minimum one year work experience in biological/chemical laboratory and field-work
Or knowledge in coding, web development/web design, data entry and MS office
