Applications have been invited for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and
Project Assistant on 03.07.2026 (10.00 hrs) at the Marine Biotechnology, Fish Nutrition and
Health Division, ICAR-CMFRI, Kochi, under the DBT-funded project entitled
“Biotransformation of Complex Seaweed Polysaccharides into Digestible Functional
Carbohydrates through Microbial Fermentation for Sustainable Marine Aquafeed
Development” under the BioE3 – Futuristic Marine Research Programme.
Eligible candidates are requested to submit their application via email along with

Essential Qualification: Master’s degree in biotechnology/
nutrition/ Biochemistry/ Bioinformatics or relevant
branches of Fisheries/Agricultural/Veterinary Sciences or
Basic Sciences with NET/GATE qualification or any
National Level Examination conducted by Central
Government Departments/Agencies/Institutions such as
DBT-BET, DST, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER etc., as per
applicable DBT/DST guidelines.
Desirable: Candidates qualified in DBT-BET Category-II
will also be considered as per DST Office Memorandum No.
DST/PCPM/Z-06/2022 dated 26.06.2023
Desirable experiences : Experience in microbial fermentation, biotechnology and
biochemistry techniques with hands-on experience in
molecular biology, qPCR analysis, biochemical analysis and
data handling software.
Age : The minimum age will be 21 and the maximum 45 years
(age relaxation applicable for OBC/SC/ST candidates as per
GOI norms).
Nature & Duration of post : Purely on temporary basis and co-terminus with the project
Emoluments : JRF: 37,000/- per month + House Rent Allowance (HRA)*
(*The House Rent Allowance (HRA) will be given as per
existing Central Government rates applicable in Kochi,
Kerala).
