Applications are invited from motivated and eligible candidates for the position of project assistant (leading to a PhD) at the Centre for Research in Pure and Applied Sciences (CRPAS), Jain (Deemed-to-be) University, Bangalore, Karnataka. 

The selected candidate will work in areas related to genomics and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and will be required to register for a PhD program at Jain (Deemed-to-be) University, subject to fulfilling the university’s eligibility criteria  

Essential Qualifications  

· First class in M.Sc. or B.Tech/M.Tech in Biotechnology / Life Sciences  
· Candidates qualified in CSIR-UGC JRF/NET or GATE will be preferred  (A strong preference will be given to CSIR-qualified candidates.)  

This position is temporary and project-based, aligned with doctoral (PhD) research work  

Age Limit  
· Upper Age Limit: 28 years (as on 06.05.2026)  
Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/Women/PwD candidates as per Government of India norms  

Fellowship & Terms  
· Fellowship/salary will be provided as per the University/Project norms  
· The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project  

Duration  
· Initial appointment for one year, extendable up to three years based on performance  
· The candidate is expected to work towards peer-reviewed publications and completion of the PhD degree
