Applications are invited only from Indian citizens for the following project based temporary positions at GBPNIHE, Kosi-Katarmal, Almora (Uttarakhand). Project entitled “Integrated Strategies for Conservation and Sustainable Utilization of Biodiversity in the Indian Himalayan Region”. HQ 26-27 -1001 

Junior Project Fellow (01 No.) 

Rs. @ 24000 +HRA and Rs. @ 28000 +HRA after 2 years 

Age limit: 28 Years 

First class Master’s Degree in Botany / Environmental Science/ Forestry/ RS-GIS/ Biodiversity Conservation 

 Preference will be given to candidates with experience in biodiversity surveys, ecological monitoring, and climate vulnerability assessment. 
 Knowledge of GIS, R/SPSS, and data handling. 
 Interest in biodiversity conservation and community-based conservation and management. 
 Willingness to travel in the tough terrains of the Himalayan region. 
 Good writing, communication, and presentation skills. 
 To carryout biodiversity surveys, ecological monitoring, and data analysis. 
 Conduct laboratory experiments, such as in vitro propagation and phytochemical assessment. 
 To carry out in situ and ex situ conservation and data generation related work 
 To organize stakeholder consultation workshops, community motivation meetings, and awareness programs. 
 Compile and analyze biodiversity and climate change related datasets. 
 Data analysis, report writing, and high-quality publications. 

LEAD-BG project entitled "Strengthening of the lead botanical garden for ex-situ conservation and knowledge dissemination on threatened and endemic plants of Himalaya (Phase III) – MoEFCC, Govt of India". HQ 26-27 -1002 

Field Attendant (01 No.) 

@ Rs.12,000/- p.m. fixed 

Age limit: 35 Years 

Intermediate with 03 years experience working in the Himalayan region for nursery development, restoration of degraded lands, cultivation of medicinal plants, research data collection, etc. 

 Experience working with Himalayan communities. To assist in field demonstration, technology transfer, capacity building, database development, data analysis and manual/report preparation. 

NMHS funded project entitled “Structure and Functioning of Himalayan Monsoon Shadow Forest Ecosystems”. HQ 26-27 -1003 

Field Assistant (01 No.) 

@ Rs. 15000/- p.m. fixed 

Age limit: 35Years 

Intermediate with 03 years experience working in the Himalayan Region for data collection and data entry. 

 Preference will be given to the candidate having experience in field survey related to data collection and from the different aspects of Himalayan Region and computer data entry. Provide assistance during the field and laboratory studies/ experimentation, data collection and data entry. 

MoEFCC, Govt of India, under NMHS funded project entitled “Rehabilitation of Degraded Alpine Grasslands using Ecosystem-based Solutions for Sustaining Ecosystem Services and Ecological Resilience across Western Himalaya”. HQ 26-27 -1004 

Junior Project Fellow (01 No.) 

@Rs. 24,000 + HRA 

Age limit: 28 Years 

First class Master degree in Botany/ Forestry/ Environmental Science/ RS-GIS 

 Conduct field-based ecological assessments of alpine grasslands (vegetation, biomass, soil, and microclimate) and establish permanent reference plots 
 Implement naturebasedrestoration interventionsin degraded alpine grasslands  Carry out systematic monitoring and data collection using quantitative indicators of ecosystem services and ecological resilience 
 Develop scientific databases, including dataanalysis, interpretation, presentation and report preparation 
 Support community outreach, training, and capacitybuilding programmes on climate-resilient grassland restoration practices Medically & Physically fit to work in the alpine region. Preference will be given to the candidates having work experience in the field of plant ecology and biodiversity conservation.
