Advertisement for Post-Doctoral Fellows
Applications from Indian Nationals/Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) are invited for PostDoctoral Fellow (PDF) positions in diverse research areas under the following faculty members
of the School of Biological Sciences
Dr. Kishore CS Panigrahi (panigrahi@niser.ac.in): Understanding the cellular homeostasis in
lower vs higher plant.
Dr. Praful Singru (pssingru@niser.ac.in): Interaction between GABA- and neuropeptidergic
systems in the brain and its relevance in energy balance.
Expertise Required: Experience in
animal handling, neuroscience, neuronal tracing, behavioral analysis, microscopy, image
analysis.
QUALIFICATION: A PhD degree in a relevant field is required. Additionally, specific
expertise (if mentioned above), will be required.

FELLOWSHIP: As per existing rules of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Govt. of
India. The positions are purely temporary and will be co-terminated with the non-plan
project. The tenure of the appointment will be till 31st March 2027 and may be extended in
a few cases on the basis of performance evaluated by the competent authority.
HOW TO APPLY: Applicants are required to submit their application sand ensure that their
recommendation letters are emailed to the relevant faculty member of the school. The
subject head of the email MUST mention: PDF application for (faculty name) lab. A copy of
the same email MUST also be marked (cc) to the Chairperson and the School Office, as
specified below, no later than 5:00 PM on 10 Jul, 2026.

The applications should have the following documents:
1. A cover letter that mentions the specific research area of interest outlined above.
2. A detailed academic CV, list of publications, relevant experience certificate(s), if any, and
names of two academic referees with email addresses & phone numbers.
3. A statement of research interests.
4. A duly filled-in application form given on pages 4-5 of this advertisement, along with
copies of all the Educational Certificates.
5. Two letters of reference.
The candidates who are short-listed based on their CV, research statement and letters of
reference could be interviewed in person or through video-conferencing before the final
selection. The positions will remain open until suitable candidates are found.
No TA/DA will be paid to the candidate for appearing in the interview or joining the
position.
