Applications are invited for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) to work on the ANRFsponsored research project titled "Dissecting the Links Between Social Isolation, Biological
Aging, and Cognitive Health in Older Adults", funded under the Anusandhan National Research
Foundation (ANRF) Early Career Research Grant (ECRG) Scheme, under the supervision of the
undersigned.

Duration Initially for one year, extendable annually based on satisfactory
performance, up to three years or until completion of the project,
whichever is earlier.
Fellowship For NET/GATE Qualified candidates: ₹37,000 per month + House Rent
Allowance (HRA) for first two years and ₹42,000 per month + House
Rent Allowance (HRA)
For non-NET/GATE qualified candidates: As per ANRF norms
▪ Project Description
This project aims to investigate the impact of loneliness and social isolation on biological
aging and cognitive health in older adults. By integrating clinical, psychosocial, and
biomarker data collected from participants recruited under this project, the study will
identify biological mechanisms linking loneliness to accelerated biological aging. The
project will generate evidence on the relationship between psychosocial factors, biological
aging, and cognitive function in later life.
▪ Job Description
The selected Junior Research Fellow (JRF) will assist in the implementation of the ANRFfunded project investigating the links between social isolation, biological aging, and
cognitive health in older adults. The candidate will participate in participant recruitment,
assessments, biological sample collection and processing, laboratory experiments, and
data analysis. The JRF will also contribute to scientific writing, preparation of project
reports, and dissemination of research findings through publications and conferences.
▪ Eligibility Criteria
▪ M.Sc. in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biomedical sciences, or a closely related
discipline from a recognized university.
▪ A minimum of 60% marks (or equivalent CGPA/grade) in the qualifying degree.
▪ Candidates with NET/GATE qualification and/or research experience relevant to the
project objectives will be given preference.
▪ Desirable Qualifications
▪ Experience in human participant-based research, including participant recruitment,
cognitive assessment, questionnaire administration, or biological sample collection and
processing will be desirable.
▪ Candidates with prior research experience in molecular biology, psychology, public health,
epidemiology, aging biology, neuroscience, or related disciplines.
▪ Experience in statistical analysis using R, SPSS, Python, or similar software.
▪ Strong scientific writing and communication skills, with evidence of research publications
or conference presentations being an added advantage.
