Applications are invited for a walk-in interview
for the recruitment of the following positions on a contractual basis under the DBT-funded project entitled
‘Production of soybean based functional foods using microbial resources isolated from traditionally
fermented foods of North East India.’ at the Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology (IASST),
Garchuk, Guwahati (Assam).
Details of the positions for the project:
1. Name of Post : Senior Project Associate
Salary: 42,000 + 18% HRA per month
Date of Interview: 02.09.2026
Essential Qualifications: Master’s degree
in Biochemistry/Biotechnology/ Microbiology from a recognized university with minimum four years’
research experience or PhD in Biological Sciences from a recognized university.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
Experience on food fermentation and downstream
analysis.
Experience on
rodent model handling, downstream processing and analysis of animal-derived samples. Experience
on microbiological techniques, mammalian cell culture, and molecular biology techniques.
2. Name of Post : Laboratory Assistant
Salary: 20,000 18% + HRA per month

Essential Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture/Biochemistry/Biotechnology/ Microbiology/Zoology
from a recognized university
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
Experience on microbiological
techniques and general laboratory techniques.
Knowledge of project documentation, maintenance of laboratory records and handling of laboratory
instruments.
