Greetings from the Centre for Ocean Research (COR), National Facility for Coastal and Marine Research (NFCMR), Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology.

We are pleased to announce 2-Day Hands-on Workshop on "Real-Time PCR-Based Gene Expression Studies", scheduled on 27–28 August 2026 at the NGS Hub, NFCMR, Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai.

This workshop is designed for students, research scholars, faculty members, and life science professionals seeking practical training in RT-qPCR techniques and gene expression analysis. Participants will gain comprehensive theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience in:

• Principles and workflow of Real-Time Quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR)
• RNA isolation and cDNA synthesis
• Experimental design, reference gene selection, and controls
• qPCR assay setup and amplification
• Interpretation of amplification plots, melt curves, and Ct (Cq) values
• Relative gene expression analysis and data interpretation
• Applications of RT-PCR in molecular biology, biotechnology, diagnostics, and biomedical research

The programme combines expert lectures with practical laboratory sessions to enhance participants' technical skills and research capabilities.
