(JRF) and one (01) Senior Research Fellows (SRF) in the DBT sponsored Research Project entitled “Designing HighPerforming, Graph Neural Nettwork Based Novel Computational Tools for Multi-layered Protein Interaction Networks (PINs)
Alignment and Identification of Network Modules/Motifs for Prioritizing Common Anti-Viral Drug Targets for Multiple
Hepatotropic Viral Diseases”, under the Principal Investigator Professor Swarup Roy, Department of Computer Science and
Engineering, Tezpur University, Napaam, Tezpur – 784028, Assam.
Eligibility:
Position Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
M.E./M.Tech./M.S./M.Sc./MCA/B.E./B.Tech. or
equivalent degree in Computer Science and
Engineering, Information Technology, Artificial
Intelligence, Data Science, Bioinformatics,
Computational Biology, Biotechnology,
Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Life Sciences, or
a closely related discipline.
The candidate must have a valid CSIR/UGC NET
(Including Assistant Professorship)/GATE or
qualified in National Level Examination conducted
by Govt. agencies such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS,
DRDO, MoE, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER,
NISER etc. or qualified in Category-II merit list of
DBT-BET examination.
A. Technical Skills Proficiency in Python programming. Knowledge
of machine learning, deep learning, graph
algorithms, network science, and data analysis.
Experience with Graph Neural Networks,
PyTorch, PyTorch Geometric, DGL, TensorFlow,
or related computational frameworks will be
preferred.
B. Research
Experience
Academic project, dissertation, internship, or
research experience in artificial intelligence,
machine learning, graph-based learning,
computational biology, biological network
analysis, or related areas.
C. Preferred
Experience
Experience in handling protein-protein interaction
networks, gene regulatory networks, host-pathogen
networks, multilayer biological networks, or
biomedical datasets.
Familiarity with biological databases and the
biological interpretation of computational results
will be an advantage.
D. Additional
Desirable Skills
Knowledge of Git, Linux, scientific
documentation, data visualization, statistical
analysis, and preparation of reproducible
computational pipelines.
Senior Research Fellow (SRF)
Qualification prescribed for JRF with two
years of research experience.
Strong proficiency in Python and
demonstrated experience in machine
learning or deep learning model
development.
Practical experience with Graph Neural
Networks, graph representation learning,
multilayer networks, and biological data
analysis is desirable
At least two years of relevant research
experience in AI/ML, graph neural
networks, network science, computational
biology, biological network analysis,
validation of computations outcomes with
biological data sources, or closely related
areas.
Publications or demonstrable research
outputs in relevant areas will be preferred.
Prior experience in multilayer biological
network analysis, protein interaction
network alignment, host-virus interaction
analysis, drug-target prioritization, graphbased AI, or integration of heterogeneous
biological data.
A good publication record in relevant peerreviewed journals will be preferred.
Ability to independently design
computational experiments, supervise junior
researchers, interpret biological results,
prepare research manuscripts, and deve
