Advertisement for various positions under the ‘BT/BMH0146/BMI/Bio-AI-09/25-under Bio-Enablers: Bio-Artificial Intelligence Hubs under DBT-BIRAC Biomanufacturing initiative’ ACTREC is pleased to announce grant in aid support from BIRAC to establish a ‘Bio-Artificial Intelligence Hubs under DBT-BIRAC Biomanufacturing initiative’. 

The grant includes development of a protein vaccine within the next 18 months as a prototype under the hub; innovations will also involve optimizing AI/ML enabled design of biologics in general. This is an exciting opportunity for ambitious and promising candidates to join an interdisciplinary team of oncologists and innovators from ACTREC and MEDVOLT AI. Under this initiative, we are seeking highly motivated and bright young aspirants to join the project for a period of two years. 

1. Research Associate: - 1 Post 

Essential Educational Qualification:- PhD degree in the area of Biochemistry/Biophysics/Structural Biology with an extensive experience in enzymology to join our team. The candidate must be capable of working in a time bound manner achieving well set deliverables and in collaboration within a multidisciplinary team. The selected candidate will focus on cloning, protein expression, purification, and enzyme characterization including biophysical properties, structure analysis and the possibility of generating protein crystals. The candidate will work in close association with the AI team who will generate a large body of variants of the enzyme with superior properties that will be tested in the laboratory at ACTREC and the results will be fed back to the AI platform for advancement and refinement of the properties. By this iterative approach we plan to generate the fast track production of the enzyme with less toxic properties that is ready for preclinical evaluation. Therefore, the aspiring candidate should have an in-depth knowledge of protein structure, how enzymes work, their kinetic and biophysical properties. 

Essential Experience: 

Minimum Two years’ experience in following mandatory skills 

• Molecular cloning 

• Recombinant protein purification from bacterial expression system 

– Biophysical tools for characterization of protein- Circular dichroism, Thermal shift assay (dye and tryptophan fluorescence-based methods), Dynamic light scattering (DLS) 

• Protein-small molecule/peptide binding assays 

– Fluorescence polarization Microscale Thermophoresis, SPR or BLI (Octet), 

• Enzyme activity assay 

Age Limit – 40 years 

Consolidated Salary- Rs.73,660/- per month. 

Duration: - One year and extendable. The work progress of the candidate will be monitored, and extension will depend on satisfactory progress of the work. 

2. Junior Research Fellow: - 1 post 

Essential Educational Qualification: Candidates should have *Master’s degree in life science or M.Tech in Biotechnology (with Biochemistry, Biophysics and Allied subjects in their course). 

Technical Expertise: It is a mandatory that the candidate is experienced in Cloning, protein expression, optimization and scaling up and purification using a variety of chromatographic methods, SDS page analysis and performing enzyme activity assays. The candidate should work as part of a team and contribute to the set of deliverables in a time bound manner. 

*M.Sc. degree having duration of one year course will not be considered. 

Age Limit: - 35 Years. 

Consolidated Salary: Rs. 46,990-/- per month. 

Duration: One year and extendable. 

The work progress of candidates will be monitored and extension may be given after 6 months. The written examination will be conducted to short-list interview candidates, in case 15 ± 5 candidates appear for the advertisement and as per PI’s discretion. Eligible Candidates may attend the walk-in interview on Monday, 07th September, 2026 in Meeting Room I, 3 rd Floor, Khanolkar Shodhika, ACTREC, Kharghar, Navi Mumbai - 410210 along with recent CV and photograph (passport size), original and xerox copies of all certificates (educational qualifications, work experience, and Aadhaar Card as ID proof) Reporting Time: 9.45 a.m. to 10.15 a.m.
