Walk-in interview for the recruitment of a Laboratory Assistant at IISER Kolkata 

Name of the Post: Laboratory Assistant 

Number of Position: One 

Emolument: Rs. 27000/- consolidated per month 

Age limit: Not more than 45 years as on the date of interview. 

Nature and Duration of Appointment: The position is purely contractual. The duration of the appointment will be initially for one year and may be extended depending on availability of fund. 

Project Title: Deciphering the Role of Inhibitory SNARE Syntaxin-2 at the Crossroad of Iron Metabolism and Infection in Macrophages 

Funding Agency: ANRF (as per norms of the funding agency and the institute) 

Essential Qualifications: B.Sc. degree in any field of life science from a reputed university/college with a minimum of one year of experience working in a research laboratory in a reputed university/ institute. 

Desirable Qualifications: Experience in Leishmania and Drosophila media preparation and administrative work related to laboratory management and purchase. 

Place of Work: Laboratory of Prof. Rupak Datta, Department of Biological Sciences, IISER Kolkata. 

Date and Time of Interview: The interview will be conducted in offline mode on 10th September 2026, 2:00 PM 

Venue: Department of Biological Sciences, 2nd Floor Meeting Room: E249(A) A J C Bose Research Complex, IISER Kolkata 

Documents to bring: Self-attested photocopy of all academic and experience certificates and an identity card. No TA/DA will be provided to the candidate for the interview.
