Job Description

The position will support genetic biomarker research projects within the Clinical Biomarkers-Pharmacogenetics group, with a particular emphasis on the Neuroscience portfolio. The position will follow the clinical team’s plan for genetic analysis, contributing to the selection of polymorphisms for analysis by providing detailed review of publicly available information (e.g. literature and public domain databases). In addition the position will be responsible for reviewing components of statistical analysis plans, clinical trial protocols and study reports relevant to the pharmacogenetics objectives. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential to success in this position.

PhD in Human Genetics, Genetic Epidemiology or Genomics is required. Post-doctoral research experience and/or specific experience in the Neuroscience field are helpful but not required. Previous experience with generation and analysis of high-throughput genotype data, including array-based technologies is expected. Working knowledge of genetic software (such as PLINK) and the International HapMap database are required. Additionally, experience in one or more of the following areas will be expected: analysis of genetics underlying drug response and/or complex traits, familiarity with molecular analysis of CYPp450 gene family and/or analysis of pharmacogenetics for pharmacokinetic endpoints, pharmacodiagnostics. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and collaborative individual with the ability to multitask. Superior written and verbal communication skills and the ability to clearly communicate scientific objectives and project results are expected
