One JRF (PhD) Position in Membrane Protein Structural Biology at ICGEB New Delhi

A JRF position, with a possibility to register for PhD, is open for those who have their own fellowship from one of these funding agencies; CSIR/UGC/DBT/ICMR/DST-Inspire, to work on human and plant ion-channels. Only those who are interested in "Structural Biology" need to apply.

Eligibility: MSc in Life Sciences, Chemistry or Physics.

Experience: Wet lab experience desirable, but not mandatory.

Brief work description: PCR cloning, protein expression and purification, enzyme kinetics, in vitro and in vivo assays, liposome reconstitution, crystallization using bicelles and lipidic cubic phases, X-ray diffraction data collection, crystal structure determination and structure analysis.

Application deadline: 15th October, 2014 (extendable till suitable candidate is found).

Facilities available at ICGEB: State-of-the-art X-ray data collection, protein purification, robotic nano-volume crystallization, CD, DLS etc. The candidate will have an opportunity to collaborate with plant molecular biology and human immunology groups at ICGEB.
