The Ph.D. Programs are offered on:

(a) Full-time basis
(b) Part-time basis for the candidates from National Research Laboratories and from Public Sector Units having research facilities and having an MOU with NIT-Warangal ONLY.

Eligibility Criteria in Biotechnology

First Class with not less than 60% in B.Tech. or B.E. (or) not less than 6.5 CGPA on a 10 point scale in (Biotechnology/Industrial Biotechnology/ Chemical Engineering/ Bio-chemical Engineering) and M.Tech/MS in (Biotechnology/ Industrial Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics)
Or
First Class with not less than 60% (or) not less than 6.5 CGPA on a 10 point scale in Integrated M.Tech. (Biotechnology/ Industrial Biotechnology / Bioinformatics)
Or
First Class with not less than 60% (or) not less than 6.5 CGPA on a 10 point scale M. Sc. (Biotechnology) with M.Tech (Biotechnology).
and
Candidates who have obtained admission into M.Tech./M.S. programs through GATE score (or) who already possesses a valid GATE score in Biotechnology.

Note: For SC/ST candidates Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 6.0 on a 10 point scale grading system, or not less than 55% marks in aggregate in Biotechnology.

The filled-in applications along with necessary documents and a crossed Demand Draft for Rs. 1000/- (Rs. 500/- in the case of SC/ST candidates) towards Registration fee, drawn in favour of The Director, National Institute of Technology, Warangal, payable at SBH, NIT Warangal branch (Code No. 2149) or SBI, Battala Bazar (Code No. 07456) should reach Deputy Registrar, Academic Section, National Institute of Technology, Warangal 506 004 on or before 03.11-2014.
