Admission to PhD program in BSBE:

Applications are invited from Indian citizens for admission for the session commencing from December 2015.

Selection procedure:

Short-listed applicants are called for a written and oral test. Names of shortlisted applicants called for the screening test will be announced in this link on November 25, 2015.

The screening tests are designed to evaluate the candidate's analytical skills and the understanding of the basic concepts of Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. The screening test and interview will be conducted at IIT Kanpur.

Schedule of screening test and interview:

7th December (Monday) - written test & 1st round of interview

8th December (Tuesday) - 1st round of interview and presentations

9th December (Wednesday) – 2nd round of interview

Important notes:

Call letter for the screening test/interview will be sent by email only. The applicants therefore are advised to enter correct email address in their application.

Accommodation, separately for boys and girls, will be arranged in our hostels for applicants called for the screening test and interview. There will be cots in the rooms. However, applicants are advised to bring with them beds/bed sheets. Applicants may plan reaching the institute one day before the scheduled screening test and depart a day after the final round of interview.

Applicants belonging to the SC/ST categories called for the screening test will be reimbursed for travel costs.

Request for change of dates for the admission will not be entertained.
