Tocklai Tea Research Institute of Tea Research Association is located at Jorhat, Assam. It carries out frontline research on all aspects of tea. It has the most modern research infrastructure with dedicated and well qualified scientists from across the Country. The institute provides one of the best working environments for bringing excellence in tea research and extension while enhancing individual capabilities and expertise. The Institute is seeking applications from eligible candidates to fill up the following vacant positions at the main Institute Headquarter at Tocklai, Jorhat, Assam.
1. Sr. Principal Scientist (Mycology/Microbiology/Plant Pathology)
Essential qualification: Ph.D. in the subject with first class Master Degree in Mycology/Microbiology/ Plant Pathology with minimum 6 years postdoctoral research/industry experience in the relevant field. Experience and R&D aptitude should be reflected through publication in high impact factor journals, demonstrating exceptional research abilities.
Pay band: Sr Principal Scientist (37,400–67,000; Grade Pay 8900) with facilities like PF, Medical, Semi-furnished accommodation, other allowances, etc. as per TRA rules.
2. Principal Scientist (Mycology/Microbiology/Plant Pathology)
Essential qualification: Ph.D. in the subject with first class Master Degree in Mycology/Microbiology/ Plant Pathology with minimum 3 years postdoctoral research/industry experience in the relevant field. 3. Principal Scientist (Water Management/Water Technology) Essential qualification: Ph.D. in the subject with first class Master Degree in Water Management of M.E./M.Tech. in Civil Engineering/Soil and Water Conservation Engineering/Agricultural Engineering with minimum 3 years postdoctoral experience of water management in agricultural crops, preferably in tea or other crops including horticulture/forestry. Experience of research in reputed institutes and research abilities are desirable. Pay band: Principal Scientist (37,400–67,000; Grade Pay 8700) with facilities like PF, Medical, Semifurnished accommodation, other allowances, etc. as per TRA rules.
4. Principal Scientist (Biochemistry)
Essential qualification: Ph.D. in the subject with first class Master Degree in Biochemistry/ Chemistry with minimum 3 years postdoctoral research/industry experience in the relevant field, experience of research in agricultural crops, preferably in tea or other crops including horticulture/ forestry. Experience of research in reputed institutes and research publications in high impact factor journals, demonstrating exceptional research abilities are desirable.
