About the conference

Biofilms are the cell collectives of bacteria enmeshed in self-produced extrapolymeric substances (EPS); importantly, it is the predominant lifestyle of bacteria in their natural settings. Microbial biofilms have a significant impact in (a) medicine, as biofilm bacteria cause more than 80% of chronic infections, and they display resistance/tolerance to most of the antimicrobials, (b) industries, as they cause biofouling/corrosion of industrial pipelines/ship hulls, and (c) environment, by helping in wastewater treatment processes. The main motivation of this conference is to aggregate people working on topics related to Microbial Biofilms in India and discuss/deliberate/brain storm on this predominant lifestyle of bacteria
