About the Seminar
Drug discovery research has contributed maximally to medicine for the treatment of cancer in the past century. Development of cancer drugs has been revolutionized over the last decade. Among them natural products remain major source for cancer treatment Majority of the anticancer drugs currently available in the market are either natural products or their analogues. Current approaches to drug discovery for cancer are typically target oriented that makes use of validated target which exploits the particular genetic addictions, dependencies and vulnerabilities of natural products/chemicals that have played an important role in treating and preventing cancer.
Improving the science of drug development and discovery research is important for fulfilling public health needs. The seminar will project the novelties and perspectives in the field of drug discovery and emphasize the informative perspective towards drug design, treatment strategies and cancer therapy by bringing together speakers and attendees from both academia and industry. More importantly, the seminar will provide an excellent opportunity to Ph.D. Masters and Medical degree students and those who are looking forward to further their career in this area.
