Research projects will focus on secondary metabolites isolation from microorganisms, studies on their biosynthesis, and generation of analogues through genomic approaches.
Students will be trained in microbial culture, isolation of small molecules using chromatographic techniques, structure elucidation using 1D & 2D NMR, MS, enzymology, cloning and heterologous expression.
Thus covering techniques from natural products chemistry to microbiology to molecular biology to genomics.
