Applications are invited from suitable candidates for one position of Junior Research Fellow in the laboratory of Dr. George Thomas to engage in a DBT funded research project entitled"Development of rice varieties for Kerala with pyramided genes for resistance to BLB by marker assisted selection".

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Master's Degree in Botany/ Agricultural Sciences/ Biotechnology with 55% marks.
  2. National Eligibility Test

    Valid JRF/score in a National level examination for admission to PhD program conducted by the Central Government Departments/Agencies such as CSIR-UGC-National Eligibility Test (NET)/MHRD - Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)/ DBT-Biotechnology Eligibility Test/ ICAR - All IndiaCompetitive Examination (AICE)/Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology & Interdisciplinary Life Sciences (JBEEBILS)/ ICMR - JRF Entrance Examination.

AGE:

Below 35 years as on 31st August, 2016.

EMOLUMENTS:

Rs. 25,000/- + 20% HRA.

DURATION:

Two Years or till termination of the project whichever is earlier. However, the selected candidate will be assessed yearly by a review committee and poor performance can lead to discontinuation of the appointment.

Only those fulfilling the above criteria need apply and will be called for interview. In the event of more than 10 candidates being short-listed by screening the applications, a written test will be conducted before the selection interview.

Envelopes must be superscripted with abbreviated title of the project, advertisement number and job title. Selection to the position will not entitle the candidate to any future positions at RGCB (permanent or otherwise). As with all project positions at RGCB, the position will be co terminus with end of the project.
