Applications are invited upto 3rd April 2017 for two posts of Scientist ‘B’ (2-OBC) (1-Immunology, 1-Statistics) at the ICMR’s National Institute for Research in Tuberculosis, Chennai in the Pay Band PB-3 Rs.15600-39100 + Grade Pay Rs. 5400/- (pre-revised VI CPC) and other usual allowances as admissible as per Government norms.

Scientist ‘B’ (Immunology) (1 post) (OBC)

Essential Qualification: MBBS recognized by MCI with 2 years experience in the field of Immunology/Biotechnology/ Molecular Biology or 1st class Master’s degree in Immunology/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology from a recognized University or 2nd class M.Sc. + Ph.D degree in Immunology/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology from a recognized University.

Desirable Qualification:

(i) Doctorate in Immunology/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology or MD/DM in Immunology/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology from a recognized university for candidates with first class in relevant Masters’ degree.

(ii) Additional Post Doctoral research/teaching experience in Immunology/ Biotechnology/Molecular Biology in recognized institute (s)

(iii) Knowledge of Computer Applications / Data Management.

(iv) Two years R&D/Teaching experience in relevant subject after obtaining essential qualification.

Job requirements: The candidate will be required to participate in the ongoing research projects in Immunology/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology of the department. He/She will be expected to initiate newer research studies in the areas of pathogenesis, immunology and/or molecular genetics of mycobacteria.

Notes: (i) Ph.D. or MD/DM in Immunology/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology shall be treated equivalent to three years experience respectively. (ii) Candidates with MD/DM or Ph.D. will be preferred for direct recruitment.
