Project Assistant
 
Applications are invited from motivated and eligible Indian candidates for the post of Project Assistant in HIV-AIDS laboratory, Molecular Biology and Genetics Unit, JNCASR, Bangalore, Karnataka.
 
The project work would involve in-depth Next Generation Sequencing analysis of HIV-1 proviral genome and transcriptome as well as human transcriptome.
 
The skills that would be required for the project include: basic knowledge and experience in Molecular Biology, use of sequence alignment tools, R package, phylogenetic analysis and programming languages (preferably Python). The work offers opportunities to gain wet lab experience. Eligibility: M.Tech. or B.Tech. Bioinformatics with hands-on experience in NGS data analysis (Transcriptome and DNA re-sequencing).
 
Candidates with M.Sc. in Life Science/Biochemistry/Microbiology/Biotechnology with good bioinformatics skills can also apply. Stipend: Salary as per the norms.
 
Duration of appointment: Minimum one year of commitment, subject to extension based on the performance.
