 Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for one post of Senior Research Fellow and one post of Lab Assistant in the  research project entitled “STUDIES ON DIVERSITY OF CULEX MOSQUITOES AND THEIR BIONOMICS IN A DISEASE ENDEMIC DISTRICT OF KARNATAKA” funded by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi sanctioned to Dr. B. Y. Sathish Kumar, Asst. Prof. and Head of the Department, Postgraduate Department of Biotechnology. The post is purely on contract basis. The initial appointment will be for one year and will be extended subject to satisfactory performance of the candidate and availability of funds. The incumbent will have no right what so ever for absorption in the regular institute service.

SENIOR RESEARCH FELLOW (SRF) (ONE POST)

 Emoluments per month Rs. 28,000/- +20% HRA

Essential Qualifications & eligibility conditions:-

1.      Postgraduate Degree in Zoology, Entomology, Public Health, Biotechnology or any branch of Life Science with NET/ KSET/ SLET with TWO YEARS OF RESEARCH EXPERIENCE. Or Candidates having Graduate and Postgraduate degree in professional course are exempted from NET/ KSET/ SLET qualification.

Desirable:

1.      Knowledge in Entomological techniques.

LAB ASSISTANT (ONE POST)

Emoluments per month Rs. 17,000/-

Essential Qualifications & eligibility conditions:-

1.      Bachelors Degree in Life Science (and must have studies Zoology/ Entomology/ Public Health/ Biotechnology as optional subjects).
2.      Preference will be given to Master Degree candidates.
3.      Age should be less than 28 years.

Desirable:

2.      Knowledge in Entomological techniques.

Job Responsibilities (for both the posts):

1.      To collect mosquito samples (Eggs, Larvae, Pupa and Adults) from field, identification, categorization, diversity and bionomics studies.
2.      Candidate should travel around Mysore and Mandya districts for sample and data collection.
3.      Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by Principal Investigator.
