Principal Scientist

Age Limit: 45 Years
Pre-clinical Sciences:
Ph.D. (Biological Sciences/ Pharmaceutical Sciences/Life Sciences) with 3 years or MD (Pharmacology) with 5 years relevant experience.
• Have more than 8 years of industry relevant experience
• Experience with toxicology, pharmacokinetics, animal studies is needed
• Proven track-record to progress small molecules from discovery to early development
• Knowledge of pre-clinical assays and early ADMET etc.
• International experience (working with multinationals)
• Excellent team and communication skills
• Good organizational skills and ability to work independently
Key Objectives and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate is expected to take early leads into preclinical drug development. The candidate is required to have proven track record in small molecule drug development specifically in designing and implementing animal studies, pharmacokinetic models and preferably have experience in IND- enabling toxicology studies.
Principal Scientist: The candidate will head the Preclinical Sciences Unit.

Ph.D degree/submitted in any of the following disciplines:
• Taxonomy of Fungi/ Bacteria/ Archaea/Algae
• Microbial Diversity/Ecology/ Evolution
• Metagenomics, Synthetic biology/Metabolic Engg.
Specialization in microbiology or mycology or microbial ecology and with minimum 2/4 years research experience in taxonomy of lower fungi or basidiomycetous fungi or yeasts or bacteria or archaea or anaerobic bacteria or extremophilic bacteria or cyanobacteria or microbial diversity or microbial ecology or microbial evolution. Experience in isolation, culturing and characterization of different groups of microorganisms and their long term preservation methods. Working experience in modern techniques related to microbial taxonomy, diversity and evolution related research.
Research experience must be substantiated by publications in reputed journals.
Key Objectives and Responsibilities:
The incumbent/s will join a team of scientists in MTCC in providing high quality services to the scientific community in the areas of characterization, preservation and supply of microbial cultures. In addition, the selected candidate has to pursue top quality research in microbial taxonomy, diversity, ecology and evolution and is expected to establish himself/herself within a reasonable time as an expert in one or more of the above areas.
