RGCB Proteomics/Genomics RA/SRF Vacancies 2017 May

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for one position of Research Associate/ Senior research fellow in a DST funded research project entitled "Analysis of Fodrin Association with Gamma-tubulin complex, the Microtubule Organizer" in the Laboratory of Dr.Suparna Sengupta at Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram. 

NUMBER OF POSITIONS: Only one. 

One suitable candidate will be selected from the pool of RA/ SRF. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

a) Research Associate: Essential Qualification: PhD in Life Sciences with published experience in cloning, mammalian cell transfection and imaging techniques. 

b) Senior Research Fellow: Essential Qualification: Good academic record with first class Masters degree in any branch of Life Science and with two to three years experience in cloning, mammalian cell transfection and imaging techniques. 

Desirable Qualification: 

National Eligibility Test (NET)/GATE qualified candidates will be given preference. Experience in proteomics/genomics is desirable. Candidates who have submitted PhD thesis can apply and will be given SRF salary now, however after getting the award, they will get the RA salary. For both the positions, initial appointment will be for one year and further extension will be given after performance evaluation till termination of the project. 

AGE: a) Research Associate: Below 35 years as on 19th May, 2017. b) SeniorResearch Fellow: Below 32 years as on 19th May, 2017. 

EMOLUMENTS: a) Research Associate: 36,000 + 20% HRA per month b) Senior ResearchFellow: 28,000 + 20% HRA per month for NET/GATE qualified candidates and 14,000/- + 20% HRA per month for others. 

Duration: Three years or till termination of the project whichever is earlier. Only those fulfilling the above criteria need apply and will be called for interview. No TA/ DA will be given for appearing in the interview.
