Ph.D. Position for JRF Qualified candidates

Applications are invited from CSIR-JRF/ICMR-JRF/DBT-JRF/DST INSPIRE candidates, in an ongoing collaborative project between Dr. Syed Shadab Raza and Dr. Avril Robertson, The University of Queensland, Australia on “Molecular mechanism of inflammasome mediated cell death in brain injury and its inhibition by novel inhibitors” e.g. MCC950 (Nature Medicine, 2014; Avril Robertson). This programme will lead to the Ph.D. of the successful candidate from Era University, Lucknow, Uttar Pardesh.

The project presents an unique and exciting opportunity to work on Mesenchymal Stem Cell (mouse & Human), Macrophages, Astrocyte, Neuronal cell culture, co-culture, Protein Expression (Western, ICC/IF/IHC, Elisa), Gene expression (qRT- PCR), SiRNA/ShRNA or/and CRISPR/CAS9, Lentiviral preparation, transfection, transduction, cloning, plasmid preparation, creating stroke and/or spinal cord injury rodent model, neurobehavioral studies etc.

Job Title: JRF
Eligibility: M.Sc. with 60% in any branch of Life Science (Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Neuroscience, Zoology etc.) with CSIR/ICMR/DBT/DST-INSPIRE fellowship.
Desirable: Acquaintances with the aforementioned techniques are highly desirable but not essential.  Also, applicant should be willing to move to our collaborators lab in Australia, if needed
