A position is available in a 3-year DBT-funded project entitled: “Chloroplast metabolic
engineering of Artemisia annua for enhancing artemisinin biosynthesis” to work on plant
tissue culture and chloroplast engineering of Artemisia annua plant.
Eligibility: BSc (Life Sciences) and related fields + 1 year experience
RESEARCH EXPERIENCE: Candidate with hands-on experience with plant tissue
culture will be preferred.
Job Description:
a). Plant tissue culture of Artemisia annua plant
b). Genetic engineering of chloroplast using gene-gun
c). Maintenance of plants in greenhouse
d). Assistance to senior researchers
e). Preparation of plant media etc.
Application Deadline: 15 September 2017
Project Duration and Salary: 3 years.
INR17,040/month + 20% HRA. 5% increment in salary/year
