Individual Scientific Research Awards 2019–2020 

The Trustees of the Lady Tata Memorial Trust offer awards for scientific investigations having a bearing directly or indirectly on the alleviation of human suffering from disease.

(1) Junior Research Fellow @ Rs 25,000 p.m.

Scholars recommended by an Indian university/institution, with first class academics (strictly 60% and above from Class X up to date), are required to work whole time under the direction of a scientist of standing in a recognized Institution.

Candidates with GATE/NET qualifications will be given preference.

Applicants who have completed their M.Sc. graduation in 2017 and 2018 should only apply for the academic year 2019–20 for the JR award.

(2) Young Researcher Award @ Rs 1,000,000 per year

This Scheme is instituted by the Lady Tata Memorial Trust (LTMT) to annually recognize and reward young Indian scientists with outstanding track record in biological sciences, with a deep commitment to find innovative solutions to major problems related to human diseases and potential for high quality research.

Applicant should have publications in well recognized peer reviewed journals of repute and contributed to knowledge generation that has created significant impact in the field of translational possibilities.

The Award is open to Indian nationals, residing in India, who are below the age of 40 years as on 31 March 2019, and who have displayed a potential for high quality research.
