Project Name & Funding Authority: Functional interrogation of interferon lambda 4 (IFN-L4) in human health and
disease; Wellcome Trust-DBT India Alliance
Project description: Under one of the aims of the project, the immunomodulatory function of human IFN-L4
(interferon lambda 4) will be investigated using the Leishmania infection model. Molecular, genetic and immunological
assays will be used to address the objectives. Human-derived immune cells like macrophages, DCs, lymphocytes and
neutrophils will be used to monitor the immunomodulatory potential of IFN-L4. The observations will be corroborated
with Leishmania-infected cells. Expression of IFN-L4 will be examined in VL, PKDL patient samples, healthy individuals
and correlated with disease status.
Walk-in interview is being organized for recruiting (01) Research Associate/post-doctoral fellow to conduct
experiments based on Immunophenotyping, molecular phenotyping and infectivity assays with Leishmania
parasites, ELISAs from patient samples towards meeting the objectives of the project.
The date of walk-in interview is February, 19 (Monday) starting from 10 A.M. The age limit is maximum 045 (forty five
years on the day of the interview. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
