CALL FOR A RESEARCH POSITION (JRF/SRF)
under “HEALTH AND DATA SCIENCES” project
Applications are invited from suitable candidates for one JRF/SRF position to work on an
Indo-Western Australian collaborative project interfacing health and data sciences under
the supervision of Dr. Vinti Agarwal, Assistant Professor, CSIS, BITS-Pilani, Pilani Campus,
Rajasthan and co-supervision of Professor S.S. Vasan, Director of Research, Department of
Health, Western Australia & Honorary Professor of Health Sciences, University of York (UK).
Duration of the project: 02 years
Fellowship amount: INR 31,000 per month or INR 35,000 per month (if candidate has good prior
research experience)
PhD. registration: For excellent candidates admission to full-time PhD program at BITS Pilani
(Pilani Campus) will be offered directly at the time of selection.
Benefits:
1. Opportunity for pursuing Ph.D. under the supervision of BITS and Australian faculty.
2. Excellent candidates may be offered financial support to conduct research at collaborating
Western Australian Universities/Research establishments for a period of 3 to 6 months.
3. Regular discussion with well-known scientists/researchers from India and Western
Australia. Excellent candidates may get the opportunity to interact with Prof Vasan’s
collaborators in Google California and AWS Australia.
4. Publications in highly reputed journals, and opportunity to present in at least one reputed
international conference.
5. Opportunity to get references and mentoring support from India and Australia faculty to
pursue postdoctoral research or industrial placement after PhD.
Eligibility requirements:
B.Tech./B.E./BSc/M.Tech./M.Sc./M.C.A. or others from a reputed university/college in
engineering/science in any discipline with a minimum score of 60% aggregate.
“Candidates qualified for UGC/CSIR JRF, DST INSPIRE, DBT Fellowship and fresh B.Tech.
graduates with research aptitude are strongly encouraged to apply.”
Desirable: Ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment. Good technical written and verbal
English language skills are essential. Candidates with knowledge in machine learning, data
science and mathematics are preferable.

After a preliminary review of applications, shortlisted candidates will be asked to go through a
written test including coding for practical problems followed by an online interview.
A final face to
