We have openings in the area of bioinformatics in plant breeding (Rice) in our IRRI- south Asia hub lab
Location: Hyderabad
Position: Project Associate I
Job Profile :
Qualifications: Masters in Statistics, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Computational Biology, or Biostatistics related discipline with one year of experience in database, and website development from scratch using HTML, CSS, PHP etc.
Essential: need to have practical experience in genomic datasets, variant calling, annotation, and assembly. practical experience in programming languages like Shell, R, python, PERL. Working in AWS environment. Working knowledge of Nextflow SnakeMake.
Desirable :
need to have good knowledge and practical experience in at least one area
Area 1. Omics data analysis (NGS, Transcriptomics, Bisulfite, ATAC-seq, CHIP-seq etc.,), perform quantitative genetics analysis and population genomics analysis
Area 2. Artificial intelligence: Develop machine learning, and deep learning models for datasets to come up with meaningful inferences and predictions.
Area 3. Design, develop, maintain, test, and evaluate computer software. Improve designed software and databases
Knowledge of AWS for cloud database deployment
Knowledge of SQL, MS SQL Server environments, T-SQL and RDBMS. Evaluate software for general use for improvement
