The Institute for Stem Cell Science & Regenerative Medicine (www.instem.res.in), Bangalore is an autonomous institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. BRIC-inStem’s mandate is to establish collaborative research programs in the field of stem cell biology, regeneration, and repair in development and disease, with an emphasis on translation. We are looking for dedicated professionals who are result-oriented, can assimilate, analyze and communicate data effectively and are excellent team players capable of working in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.
Postdoctoral / Research Associate
PhD or MD/PhD in Molecular Medicine, Molecular Biology, Developmental Biology, Stem Cells, Tissue Engineering, Human, Animal or Cell Physiology and/or any other relevant degree equivalent to PhD.
Experience in animal handling and small surgeries. Additionally, prior experience in molecular biology, confocal imaging and FACS technologies is preferred. Wet lab, cell and tissue culture, animal handling experiments, data acquiring and collating, research finding presentations in lab meetings and appropriate forums, participating in review articles, paper writing and publications.
Tenure: Contractual appointment for 11 Eleven months, renewable based on requirement and review of progress and requirement of the Grant.

PhD Experience: Two years of research experience in academia or industry.
Experience in cell and tissue culture, confocal imaging, FACS analysis, animal handling and/or omics data analysis is preferred. Postdoctoral Fellow - I

Essential qualifications: PhD degree in any branch of Life Sciences from a recognised university or Institute. Candidates should have demonstrated experience in the following:
• Research requiring cell biology techniques, including culturing, stock maintenance, transfection and transduction
• Immunostaining and microscopic imaging capabilities.
• Protein extraction and biochemical analyses of cellular proteins including proteomics
• Ability to work with animal models including handling, injection, dissection and tissue processing of mouse models Candidates with strong background and experience in cell biology, protein biochemistry, advanced imaging and molecular biology are encouraged to apply.
Previous experience with animal handling, animal physiology and/or computational biology will also be an asset. Candidates must have a good scientific record with at least 1 first author paper published from their PhD work in an international peer-reviewed journal of repute. The candidate is expected to design and manage the work independently, have good organizational skills, work in an interdisciplinary team, and handle multiple tasks.
They will also be responsible for data documentation, validation and compilation, for preparation of manuscripts. They are expected to participate in project team meetings and contribute to the projects scientifically and intellectually.
