Eligible candidates are invited for the following purely temporary positions in the following Fields/Areas for the NMITLI/Supra institutional/ sponsored projects tenable at NBRI:-

I. Area:Tissue culture

PROJECT ASSISTANT LEVEL - II

Essential Qualifications

Ist class M.Sc. in Botany/Plant Sciences.

Desirable Qualification
Experience of working in Plant Tissue Culture.

Job requirement

To assist in the project work related to tissue culture of Jatropha curcuss.

II. Area : Ecology & Physiology

PROJECT ASSISTANT LEVEL II

Postion I

Essential Qualifications

1st class M.Sc. in Botany/Plant Sciences.

Desirable Qualification
Candidates having research/training /project experience in plant biodiversity, taxonomy studies, knowledge of computer.

Job Requirement
Field based biodiversity studies including survey, collection identification and diversity study of plants of forest ecosystem of U.P.

Postion II

Essential Qualifications

1st class M.Sc in Botany/ Environmental Science/ Ecology/ Forestry/Life Sciences.

Desirable Qualification
Candidates having research/training/project experience in forest ecology, phytosociology and productivity/biomass estimation.

Job Requirement

Field-based studies on forest phytosociology, population dynamics and primary productivity of tropical deciduous forest ecosystem of U.P.

Postion III

Essential Qualifications

1st class M.Sc. in Environmental Sciences/ Soil Science/ Botany/ Biochemistry/Plant Sciences.

Desirable Qualification
Candidates having research/training /project experience in soil physico-chemical analysis and/or air quality monitoring.

Job Requirement

Field-based studies on litter and nutrient dynamics and soil characteristics, ambient air quality monitoring in forest ecosystem of U.P.

Postion IV

Essential Qualifications

1st class M.Sc. in Botany/Plant physiology/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Life Sciences.

Desirable Qualification
Candidates having research/training /project experience in Plant Physiology studies.

Job Requirement

Field-based eco-physiological studies, photosynthesis, respiration etc., of tropical deciduous forest ecosystem of U.P.

III. Area/Field: Biodiversity assessment, prospection and conservation of plant resources of India

PROJECT ASSISTANT LEVEL I

Essential Qualifications

1st class BSc. in Plant Sciences/ Biotechnology/ Botany/ Biochemistry/ Genetics/Microbiology..

Desirable Qualification

At least six months research/training project experience in plant genetic engineering transformation and plant Molecular Biology

STIPEND

For Project Assistant Level-II positions Rs.8000/- p.m./Rs.10,000 p.m./Rs.12000 p.m. (Consolidated) and Project Assistant Level-I position Rs.5000/-p.m./ Rs.7000 p.m. (Consolidated).

DATE & VENUE OF INTERVIEW

For Area I on.04-11-08, Area II 05-11-08 and Area III 07-1108 at 11.00 A.M. at Conference Room, Genetic Block, NBRI, Lucknow

TERMS & CONDITIONS:

  1. Upper age limit not exceeding 28 years as on the date of interview (except for Area I where the upper age limit is 25 years as on 01-04-2008).Age relaxation for SC/ST candidates 05 years and OBC candidates 03 years as per Government of India instructions.

  2. The Application form will be provided at the venue on the date. However candidate may download the application form in advance from the website www.nbri-lko.org. At the time of interview candidates should bring attested copy of certificates of passed examinations starting from matriculation, date of birth, caste certificate (in case of SC/ST/OBC) and experience certificate etc.. Tentative mark sheets/certificates and result awaited will not be considered. All eligible candidates are requested to be present at venue on date 30 minutes before the scheduled time for necessary formalities.

  3. Mode of Selection: Through Interview. However, if large number of candidates turns up, a Screening test comprising of multiple choice objective questions will be held for short listing the candidates for interview. The short listed candidates will be interviewed by Selection Committee and based on their performance in the interview; a panel of recommended candidates will be formed (valid for 03 months only). The panel shall be utilized as and when the requirement arises in the sponsored projects in the relevant field/area. Candidates have the option to interact in Hindi/English before the committee.

  4. The positions are purely temporary on contract basis and co terminus with the sponsored projects. Further the above stipend is tentative and the same will be finally decided based on the emoluments in the sponsored project.

  5. Candidate who strictly fulfill the eligibility and possess the degree/mark sheet in the aforesaid subjects only should turn up for floating interview to avoid any inconvenience.
