Eligibility
(a) For Open Merit and SC/ST Candidates
Candidates with bachelor's degree under 10+2+3 pattern of education in Physical, Biological, Agricultural, Veterinary, and Fishery Sciences, Pharmacy, Engineering Technology, 4-Years BS (Physician Assistant) Course, Medicine (MBBS) or BDS with at least 50% marks.(b) For Sponsored Candidates
Candidates with bachelor's degree under 10+2+3 pattern of education in Physical, Biological,Agricultural, Veterinary, and Fishery Sciences, Pharmacy, Engineering Technology, 4-Years BS (Physician Assistant) Course, or Medicine (MBBS) or BDS with at least 55% marks.NUMBER OF SEATS:
The total number of seats is 28 (+ 4 FN/NRI seats. Refer section 8 for eligibility & other conditions). Ten students ( 7 Gen + 3 SC/ST) will be admitted through combined entrance examination to be conducted by JNU and 13(10 Gen + 3 SC/ST) from the entrance examination conducted by TU. Five seats are reserved
for sponsored candidates.ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS
A candidate may appear in either or both of the Entrance Examinations.

The Entrance Test will be held at TU, Patiala and Delhi only.

ReplyDeleteI wish to know what is the minimum age criterion to join PhD in India in biological sciences. I have finished my MSc two years back in Life sciences and want to join PhD now in a good instt or university. I am 25 and a half years old now. I could not continue earlier due to some medical problems. Would it create any hindrance towards my selection on an interview basis provided I perform well. I have CSIR JRF cleared in June, 2008. I really need to continue PhD to get an academic or research job in this field. I am concerned about my two years delay or drop you may call it.

There is 28 years minimum age criteria for joining Ph.D.with CSIR JRF.without any valid fellowship there is no minimum and maximum age.It totally depends on institution to which you want to join.
