Qualifications & Experience:

Essential: (i) MBBS Degree in the required discipline recognized by MCI OR First class Master’s Degree in Life/Biological Sciences or relevant biological subjects from a recognized University or equivalent OR Second class Master’s Degree in Life/Biological Sciences or relevant biological discipline with PhD Degree from a recognized University or equivalent. (ii) Four years research experience in the relevant areas.

Desirable: (i) Doctorate Degree in Life/Biological Sciences, in the related subject or MD in the related subject (ii) Additional Post doctoral research/teaching experience in relevant subject (iii) Knowledge of Computer Applications.

Note: Ph.D or MD degree in subjects relevant to ICMR shall be treated equivalent to three years experience.

Job Requirement: The candidate is expected to initiate research programmes in applied reproductive genetics. To plan and execute research projects and to assist the Director and other scientists in conducting research in thrust areas, of the Institute/Center.

Age: Not exceeding 40 years (relaxable upto 5 years for Government servants in accordance with the instructions issued by the Department of Personnel and Training from time to time in this regard).

Benefits of new restructured defined Contributory Pension system are admissible as per the provision contained in the Ministry of Finance, Department of Economic Affairs (ECB & PR Division), Notification No.5/7/2003-ECB & PR dated 22.12.2003 effect from 01.01.2004.

Private practice is not allowed, however, non-practicing allowance is admissible to medical graduates as per rules of the Council. Incomplete / late application or without postal orders will not be entertained. Any canvassing by or on behalf of the candidate or to bring political or other outside influence with regard to selection/recruitment shall be disqualification.

NOTE: In the event of non-availability of suitable candidate for the advertised posts, the position can be filled up at lower level. Since it is not possible to call all the eligible candidates for the interview/Personal discussion, the applicants will be short-listed for this purpose. The decision of the Director General, ICMR will be final in this regard. Outstation candidates called for personal discussion for the posts of Scientist ‘C’ will be paid 2^nd Class rail fare by shortest route on production of tickets. The post is with all India transfer liability under the Council.
