Science Communication (Hindi or English)
Essential Qualification
1st Class M.Sc. in Biological/ Chemical/ Physical Sciences OR
Ph.D. (Science)
Desirable Qualification
1. Knowledge of Scientific/Technical writing/editing in English or Hindi
2. Diploma in Journalism
3. Knowledge of Computer Applications Writing, editing and translation of popular science articles, news items, reports, etc. for magazines/ journals/news letters etc. and their publication

Mode of Selection:

(a) The prescribed essential qualifications are a bare minimum and mere possession of same does not entitle a candidate to be called for test/interview. The duly constituted Screening Committee will adopt its own criteria like test, etc., if required, for short-listing the candidates to be called for interview. Only those candidates, who in the opinion of the Institute, suit the Institutional  requirements will be called for test/interview. The candidate should, therefore, mention in the application all the possessed qualifications and experience in the relevant area over and above the minimum prescribed qualification supported with documents.
(b) Candidate should ensure that he/she possesses educational qualification/experience in the relevant area as required in the category/post, for which he/she is applying, on the last date of receipt of application.
(c) The period of experience in the requisite discipline/area of work wherever prescribed shall be counted w.e.f. the date of acquiring the prescribed minimum educational qualifications required for that post.
(d) Only outstation candidates called and found eligible for interview will be paid to and fro single second class rail/ordinary bus fare from the actual place of undertaking the journey or from the normal place of their residence whichever is nearer to the place of the interview as per rules.

5. How to Apply 

To apply, the applicants must fill in the online application form available on NISCAIR Website http://www.niscair.res.in Only the applications received electronically followed by hard copy attached with all relevant documents thereof, will be entertained.

An application fee of Rs.100/- (Rupees One hundred only) (no application fee for Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe / Women / PWD Candidates and regular employees of CSIR) is payable separately for each post(s) which should be ONLY in the form of crossed Demand Draft payable at New Delhi (valid for a period of atleast 6 months) drawn in favour of Director, NISCAIR, New Delhi.

Hard copy of online application form, application fee, recent passport size photograph and attested copies of certificates in proof of educational qualifications, date of birth, caste, experience, etc. should be sent in a closed cover superscribed with “Application for the post of Scientist Group-IV (Post Code) to: “The Controller of Administration, National Institute of Science Communication and Information Resources (NISCAIR), Pusa Campus, Dr. K S Krishnan Marg, New Delhi –110012.

N.B.: The date of commencement of online application is 15.05.2010.

The last date of receipt of online application is 08.06.2010.
The hard copy of online application along with required documents should reach NISCAIR on or before 15.06.2010
