Qualification M.Sc. first class in Botany/ Biotechnology/Biochemistry/ Microbiology.  
CSIR-UGC/DBT/ICMR-JRF OR CSIR-UGC-NET-LS qualified candidates will be given preference.
The selected JRF will be allowed to register for Ph.D. Non NET qualified candidates may also be considered for Project Assistant (PA, level-II) if found suitable.
The Discipline of Marine Biotechnology and Ecology of CSMCRI, Bhavnagar is actively engaged in multidisciplinary research in frontier areas of modern biology and biotechnology.  Some of the ongoing/new projects of the Discipline for which we wish to recruit 9 Junior Research Fellows are in the following areas :

· Cloning and characterization of stress-responsive genes, promoter isolation and development of transgenic crop plants
· Climate change and adaptation-  Phenology and population dynamics of halophytes
· Environmental monitoring (sea, sediments and inland areas)
· Mapping of marine biodiversity (seaweeds and marine microbes) using molecular tools and techniques

Age:  Not more than 28 years as on last date of receiving of application (relaxation as per CSIR rules).

Fellowship – CSIR-UGC/DBT/ICMR-JRF Rs.16,000/- PM + HRA (for first two years): Rs. 18,000/-PM + HRA (for Subsequent years); CSIR-UGC-NET LS Rs. 12,000/- PM +HRA; (for first two years) and Rs.14,000/- PM + HRA (for subsequent years); P.A. Level-II : Rs.12,000/- PM consolidated.

The short listed candidates will be intimated through e-mail about the time and date of the test/interview. The posts are purely temporary for duration of sponsored project/scheme only. It would, therefore, not confer any right/claim implicit or explicit for any candidates for claiming extension or absorption in CSMCRI/CSIR.

No traveling or any other allowances will be paid for attending the interview.
